Midlothian, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield Police say the Medical Examiner has informed them a young boy found in a freezer earlier this year died of blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was homicide. The information coming out days after Elial Weaver's father, Kassceen Weaver, was charged with murder, malicious wounding, and felony child neglect.
At the time of the discovery of the body in May, police said Elial Weaver may have been in the freezer at the Midlothian home for as many as two years. Kassceen Weaver was charged after a court appearance last week, where he had appeared on the original charges in this case of failure to render aid and concealing a body. Weaver remains in jail without bond.
Dina Weaver, the boy's mother, also faces charges of failure to render aid and concealing a body. Police would not say if additional charges are possible. It's believed Elial Weaver was under age five when he died.
