Chesterfield, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield Police are warning residents after seeing four suspected heroin overdoses in a period of two days, August 15th and 16th. Police believe the suspected heroin was likely laced with fentanyl, making it more potent and deadly. One of the overdoses was fatal.
Police so far have been unable to tie the overdoses together. They did occur in roughly the same area in the Hull Street and Midlothian Turnpike areas.
The department is asking people who may be using to please seek out resources. Police are also recommending you do not buy from unknown dealers at this time. Just last week, local health departments did issue a spike alert because of a series of opioid overdoses. Chesterfield Police says this spike comes after a gradual decline.
