Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The City of Richmond announced Wednesday morning that crews have acquired two bypass pumps, which will boost pressure into “Plant 2” of the Richmond water treatment facility.
Officials posted the announcement to social media at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan 8. The bypass pumps will allow more pumps to and filters to return to functionality, which will in turn help build water pressure in the system.
At approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday, city officials said 13 filters and five pumps were operational at the treatment plant and that pressure was steadily building in the system.
The boil water advisory remains in effect, and the city is encouraging residents to conserve water when service returns.
