Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The application period for Richmond’s small business water recovery grant fund opens today, giving local businesses affected by January’s water crisis a chance to apply for financial help.
City officials announced the fund at the end of February, saying it’s seeded with half a million dollars from Altria, Dominion Energy, and Richmond’s Economic Development Authority.
“This grant fund is designed to help businesses recover from financial losses caused by service disruptions, including temporary closures, reduced operations, and unexpected expenses,” the city said.
To be eligible for assistance, the small business must be located in the city of Richmond and be able to show demonstrated loss in revenue during the water outage period.
Applications are being accepted March 17 through March 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Applicants will find out whether or not they received a grant between April 11 and 14.
