Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - As we head into Fall, the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) are encouraging residents to get their 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine.
“The COVID-19 vaccine is the best way for residents to protect themselves from severe illness due to the virus,” said RHHD Health Director, Dr. Elaine Perry. “The vaccine is safe and effective and has also been shown to reduce the risk of developing Long COVID.”
Community residents can get the vaccine at their primary care provider, a local pharmacy, or at an RHHD event or clinic. Most people won't have to pay for the vaccine; it is available for free with most insurance plans. Those without insurance can access the vaccine through the "Bridge Access Program," and uninsured children can get the vaccine through "Vaccines for Children" program.
