Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Confusion reigned this morning as spots for CVS vaccine appointments appeared and disappeared quickly. Originally, it was believed CVS wasn't going to take appointments until Thursday, but people were able to get in and schedule shots for themselves this morning.
CVS says it did open the appointment system at Virginia's request. CVS says the appointments were only available for those who had previosuly registered with their local health district, or with the Department of Health. However, it is not clear that was communicated to people who wanted the appointments, and by the time many tried to get a spot, they were already all taken.
CVS is asking people to continue to try, as new spots will open as more supply comes in. CVS is receiving 26,000 vaccines a week, but those are spread across the Commonwealth.
