Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - It appears that the State Supreme Court will also be drawing the maps for Virginia's Congressional Districts. The Commission in charge of drawing the maps has voted to adjourn permanently without coming to an agreement.

The Commission, which is evenly split among Democrats and Republicans, could not agree on what constitutes political fairness. Democrats favored a map that had five safe Democratic districts, four safe GOP districts, and two swing districts. Republicans wanted a map that went five-five-one.

The Commission could return if members, on their own, developed a map that the Commission could agree on. The Commission already put the General Assembly maps in the hands of the court. The Court being in charge of the process worries some Democrats, as most of the Court was approved by Republicans.
