Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - There has been yet another delay in the Lucia Bremer murder case. A status hearing scheduled for Tuesday was continued at defense request to August 24th, according to court records. Originally, this week was supposed to be the start of the trial for the 15-year old accused in Bremer's murder
Several weeks ago, the boy's lawyers requested a neuropsychiatrist, which was granted. The move delayed the trial from it's original start. The Commonwealth did not oppose the move.
The 15-year old is believed to suffer from unspecified mental health issues and had a traumatic upbringing, with his father murdered and his mother dying in front of him. Bremer was shot and killed in March 2021 as she walked with a friend near Mills Godwin High School.
