Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The teen arrested over the weekend in the shooting death of Lucia Bremer had his first court appearance Monday morning. The 14-year old will have another court appearance May 4th. Henrico Commonwealth's Attorney Shannon Taylor says she has not yet determined if she will try the boy as an adult, and she needs more information before she proceeds.
Bremer was shot and killed Friday afternoon, along a walking path near Mills Godwin. The teen boy accused in her murder was arrested Saturday. He faces a second degree murder charge as well as firearms charges.
Bremer's Principal at Quioccasin Middle School, as well her soccer coach and and teachers, spoke about Bremer on the first day of school since the shooting. Principal Melanie Phipps says Lucia was a "light," and a great public speaker. Coach Phil Markowski says she was a joy to coach, and just wanted to be out on the field. The Middle School team plans to remember her during their six game season this spring.
