Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - In a very strongly worded statement, Washington Commanders Head Coach Ron Riveria has announced Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio will be fined $100,000 for his comments about the January 6th insurrection. The fine money will be given to the U.S. Capitol Police Memorial Fund.

In the statement, Riveria calls Del Rio's comments "extremely hurtful," and he himself calls the January 6th insurrection an "act of domestic terrorism." Riveria also says the organization will not tolerate the equivalence of those fighting for justice with those who sought to topple our government. Del Rio also questioned the response to the 2020 protests in his comments.

In the wake of those comments by Del Rio, Virginia lawmakers pulled a bill that would have helped put a stadium for the Commanders in Virginia.
