Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Citing dropping infection rates, and increasing vaccination rates, House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn (D-Fairfax) has announced the House of Delegates will be returning, in person, to the State Capitol. The last time Delegates met in person in the House Chamber was in March 2020.

Filler-Corn calls it a milestone and adds that it is time. The House has been meeting virtually, for the most part, since March 2020, while Senators have met in person, albeit at the Science Museum of Virginia.

Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are calling on Governor Ralph Northam (D) to lift the remaining Covid restrictions to help the economy, now that he's lifted the mask mandate for fully vaccinated Virginians. They also say the mandate should be lifted for schools, something that was not done because most students have not been vaccinated.
