Dinwiddie, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Department is now offering a $1000 reward for anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run that killed former Dinwiddie Commonwealth Attorney Thomas Rainey.
Since Rainey, 70, was killed last Thursday while riding his bike on Flatfoot Road, authorities have been looking for a Nissan Frontier pickup truck they believe to have been involved. Now, the Dinwiddie Sheriff's Office says they will give a reward of $1000 to anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest of the driver. The incident occurred at around 6:15 Thursday evening, and police have asked that anyone who sees an appropriately-damaged truck matching the description contact them. In the Facebook post announcing the reward, Dinwiddie Sheriff D.T. Adams called Rainey, a Commonwealth Attorney in Dinwiddie for nearly 20 years, a "great friend."
