Dinwiddie, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Dinwiddie School Officials say two students injured in last week's fire at the high school have been released from the hospital, but that a third will remain there "for some time." All three suffered serious burns when a chemistry demonstration went wrong.

Fire Chief Dennis Hale says the chemistry teacher, who is a long-time teacher, was actually attempting the demonstration a second time when a condition known as "fire jetting" occurred. The teacher is currently on leave. The demonstration involved methanol.

The fire last Wednesday lead to the evacuation of the school. Students then had an asynchronous day Thursday before returning to the classroom Friday.
