Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - You won't be able to apply for a new driver's license, renew your license, or replace your license in person at the DMV this weekend. A Verizon outage of the primary national database needed to process those requests will prevent the DMV from checking the needed information.
Verizon originally planned to do this outage at the end of February but delayed it until this Saturday. All other requests at the DMV will be available. You may also be able to, in certain circumstances, be able to renew your license online.
The outage will only impact Saturday, March 18th.
