Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Dominion Energy Riverrock returns to Richmond this week for its 16th year. Over the course of three days, the sports and music festival will include trail runs, mountain biking, dog jumping and more.
The event will run from Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19. Friday’s events kick off at 5 p.m. The festival will still include events held at Brown’s Island, as usual — a short walk away from Kanawha Plaza, where other events will take place.
“Kanawha Plaza enables the festival to showcase another amazing event venue in Richmond that is still easily accessible to the world-class trail system, Brown’s Island, and highlights the proximity of the James River to the heart of downtown,” Sports Backers said.
“In true Dominion Energy Riverrock fashion, the festival footprint will include Brown’s Island, the neighboring James River, the trail system, and Haxall canal,” organizers said.
Organizers describe the event as “the nation’s premier outdoor sports and music festival. Attendees can expect to find a variety of food and beverage vendors, free demos, and more.
