Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Dominion Energy says it has enough generation capacity to meet energy demands during this heatwave. Central Virginia is under a heat advisory for Thursday, and temperatures may reach 100 over the weekend.
Spokesman Craig Carper says Dominion has spent the year improving and maintaining its systems in order to be able to handle peak demand. However, he says if you want to conserve to save money, each degree you raise your thermostat will save around three percent. He also says room fans can help.
Dominion also recommends, during peak demand conditions, that people run their major appliances at night when it is cooler.
