Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Eight people were left displaced as a result of a large house fire in the city’s Northside on Sunday.
On Sunday, Jan. 28 at around 1:30 p.m., Fire and EMS crews responded to a structure fire on Pelham Drive. Upon arriving, they saw smoke and flames coming from a home.
The homeowner had reported the fire when they saw flames coming from the home’s water heater, according to officials. The fire was found to have spread to the crawl space outside, and crews had to open the floors of the home to extinguish the fire.
A total of 38 personnel responded to the fire. It was marked clear after about an hour.
Four adults and four children were left displaced, according to officials. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
