Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia's Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula says the number of doses this month is expected to make a big jump, and he anticipates that Virginia could finish Phase 1b by the end of April. Avula also believes all Virginians who want to get a shot could get one by the end of May.
Avula spoke the same week Johnson and Johnson's one shot vaccine is being added to the nation's doses. He says Central Virginia is expected to get 14,000 J&J doses in the initial allocation. The first ones should go into arms this weekend.
Avula also says the other providers are increasing their allocations.
