Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating an excavator crash on Interstate 95 southbound near E. Parham Road.
The crash happened at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11 when an excavator on a flatbed struck the overpass.
After the initial impact, debris fell from the truck onto the roadway and triggered a five-vehicle secondary crash. No serious injuries were reported.
Crews with VDOT are at the scene investigating the structural integrity of the overpass in order to determine if repairs are needed.
As of the time of reporting, northbound and southbound on ramps 43B from Route 295 towards I-95 are closed. Traffic is being diverted onto Interstate 295 and Parham Road.
