Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Richmond-Henrico Health District says population size is a main factor in Central Virginia not being able to expand vaccine eligibility further to Phase 1C. RHHD's Amy Popovich says smaller areas of Virginia have been able to expand more rapidly, and get into additional industries such as media.

Popovich also says their events remain at capacity. She says the decision to further expand into all of Phase 1B was made when they began to see spots not being filled at their vaccination events.

It is anticipated that Central Virginia will move into Phase 1C sometime in April.
