Moseley, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield fire officials say one person died in an early morning fire along Beaver Bridge Road, in the far western portion of the county. A second person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The second person's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Battalion Chief Sal Luciano says the original call was for a brush fire, but when they arrived, they found it was actually a home on fire. The fire did spread from the home to the yard and a nearby shed. The home is in a rural part of the county but Luciano says water access was not an issue.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
