Richmond, Va (NewsradioWRVA.com) - First Lady Pam Northam toured the mass vaccination site at Arthur Ashe Center Friday morning to see what they have done to accommodate kids ages 5 to 11.

She says that she's impressed at what the staff at Virginia Department of Health, and other vendors, have done to make the whole process more comfortable for that age group as well as parents. There were interactive activities that kids could take part in, as well as spacious pods where they get their vaccine and a chance to color afterward.

Amber Manry brought her two daughters, 10 year old Logan and 8 year old Morgan to receive their vaccine. She says that Logan had bugged her to get a vaccine because her birthday is next month and she wants a party. She says that she didn't feel much pain when she got the shot, and neither did her younger sister.
