Sandston, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - First Lady Jill Biden came to Eastern Henrico Friday to encourage parents and guardians to get their youngest kids vaccinated against Covid-19. It came just weeks after the federal government approved the vaccinations for the 0-5 age group, the only one that hadn't been allowed to get vaccinated yet.

Multiple parents who were at the clinic off Laburnum Avenue were unaware that the First Lady was going to be visiting until the last minute. Julia Crowder had brought her three-year old on his birthday, and was a little taken aback by the security and press. However, she said she was so eager to get her son vaccinated that she had considered driving to Louisa to get it done. The First Lady sung Happy Birthday to her son as she worked the room.

There was only a small group of protestors outside the event, at least in the moments afterwards. Most had anti-vaccination signs.
