Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA) - Saying he's done this before, former president Barack Obama was at VCU campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. Obama says that McAuliffe doesn't need to campaign on a lot of issues because he's done them before.

"He talks about protecting a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions and working in a bi-partisan way with reasonable Republicans. He doesn't have to say that for the campaign. He did it when he was governor," Obama said. "He's walked the walk."

Obama and other Democrats were at the rally encouraging people to vote for Democrats and reminded people that early voting is taking place right now.

The rally was held in front of the James Branch Cabell Library at VCU with only ten days before Election Day. Recent polls have indicated that the race between Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin is close.
