Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A local non-profit is asking area residents to please donate baby formula so they can give it to needy families. Little Hands Virginia, like families with young children, is also having trouble getting supplies of baby formula because of the national shortage.

Little Hands partners with a number of organizations who then send families in need of supplies to Little Hands. Executive Director Taylor Keeney says they used to have a supply of formula, but at the beginning of the shortage, they gave their supply to VCU Children's Hospital.

Keeney is asking people if they see formula on the shelves, to buy one and bring it to their office at Forest Hill Avenue and the Chippenham. They are looking for nine brands in particular: Similac, Similac Sensitive, Similac Alimentum, Similac NeoSure, Enfamil NeuroPro Sensitive, Enfamil Gentlease, Nutramigen, Elecare, and Puramino.
