Midlothian, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Police Officer Trey Sutton was remembered Wednesday morning at his memorial service at Victory Tabernacle Church in Midlothian. The 24-year old rookie officer was killed in an on-duty car crash last week that also injured a second officer, and the person they were transporting.

Almost tearfully at times, Sutton's fiancee told those in attendance that Sutton never wanted to be remembered, he wanted to serve. Henrico Police Chief Eric English promised Sutton's family they could lean on the department, and that Sutton's badge number would be retired.

Sutton had just graduated from the Police Academy in February. The other two people in the accident, at last check, remain in critical condition. The crash took place at Wilkinson Road and Chamberlayne Avenue.
