Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The State Attorney General's Office says one of two subcontractors accused of misclassifying employees has pled guilty to five felony embezzlement counts. Richmond Drywall Installers, according to the AG, will pay $21,000 in fines and restitution.
The office had accused the RDI of misclassifying the employees as independent contractors to avoid taxes. The GAB is a state project and is supposed to be completed sometime next year.
The case against the other subcontractor is still ongoing.
