Gas Prices are Dwindling, both Locally and Nationally

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com)- A month after the commonwealth hit all time high gas prices, they are dwindling down a bit and drivers are finally seeing relief at the pump.

According to AAA, the national gas average is currently $4.11. Here in Virginia, the average gas prices is back under $4 at $3.98 and $3.96 in Richmond.

AAA's mid- Atlantic spokesperson, Morgan Dean said that this slow change is likely being caused by the U.S. and other allying nation's announcement to release a significant amount of oil from their reserves.

Since this announcement was first made, gas prices have been slowly falling. Dean also pointed to the recent Covid infections in China for causing uncertainty in the global markey and possibly affecting gas prices.,

According to AAA, the national gas average has fallen 22 cents in a month and Virginia's has dropped even more, going from $4.25 to $3.98 in just a month.
