Goochland, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Goochland County Sheriff's Department says it believes three break-ins between December and March in the county are tied to an international theft ring. The department says the ring is from South America, and is known as the South American Theft Group.
The group allegedly has hundreds of members, and targets high-end homes up and down the East Coast. Goochland deputies say they have been targeting cash and jewelry. They could not say what led them to the group.
The department says it has not contacted the FBI but knows the agency is looking into the ring.
