Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) has responded to a racist social media post by former President Donald Trump (R) , posted as some Republicans have advocated a break with the former President. Youngkin has not advocated such a break, but Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears (R) has.

Trump has been targeting potential Republican rivals recently. In the post, Trump splits Youngkin's name to "Young" and "Kin" and states "sounds Chinese, doesn't it?" He then claims Youngkin would not have won election without him, although Trump did not campaign in person in the Commonwealth last year.

Youngkin says he has not seen the post but also says it is not "how he rolls." He also says he has not advocated for a split with Trump, but rather, bringing people together post-election. Youngkin says he deeply respects Sears.
