Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - GRTC says its new microtransit service, "Link," is now live.

According to GRTC, the new service is designed to fulfill transportation needs in areas that might not support traditional fixed route service. Link will be able to pick up and drop off riders from anywhere in GRTC's designated operating zone.

Currently, Link is only available in the Mechanicsville area of Hanover County, as well as parts of Henrico and Richmond's Northside (North of Laburnum Avenue between Brook Road and Richmond-Henrico Turnpike). GRTC says areas of Ashland, North Chesterfield, Powhatan County, Eastern Henrico County and New Kent County will receive LINK service in 2024.

Riders can access Link service on the GRTC app. The service is free.
