Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Hanover Tomato Festival is happening this Friday, July 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says it's anticipating traffic congestion along Pole Green Road, between I-295 and Walnut Grove Road during these times.
"Deputies will be directing traffic along Pole Green Road all the way up to, but not at, I-295, to ensure the smooth transition of vehicles coming to the event," says Lieutenant James Cooper, Hanover Sheriff's Office.
Attendees are asked to exercise patience as deputies direct traffic and work to get everyone safely into the event. Those who plan to go somewhere around the event are urged to consider leaving a little earlier to avoid traffic delays that will be caused by this event.
The Hanover Tomato Festival is set to take place at 8996 Pole Green Park Lane in Mechanicsville.
