Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Schools have made some changes to their graduation plans, a result of the lifting of most Covid restrictions today. Graduates will now get eight tickets for graduation, a doubling of the previous four. Families will also no longer need to sit in pods.
The Governor lifted capacity and distancing restrictions overnight, so that people no longer need to remain six feet from each other, and events can go to 100% capacity. Originally, the plan was not to move in that direction until June15th, which would have fallen right in the middle of Henrico's graduation schedule.
Spokesman Andy Jenks says it takes some time to plan graduations, so Henrico could not just shift and go back to traditional graduation indoors at VCU. Jenks says they do understand graduation will be outdoors in June, and will make adjustments for heat and sun.
