Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - UPDATE: Henrico Police now say the original exchange of gunfire occurred during an attempted robbery. Police now have three people in custody, and charges are peding.
ORIGINIAL: Henrico Police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the West End, at the same time they are also searching for a potential suspect. Police say the shooting occurred while they were in the area of the Copper Mill Trace Apartments on a different investigation. Police say they witnessed two people shooting at each other, engaged the shooters, and in the process, shot one of them
Police say one suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The search continues for the other. Police have closed West Broad Street from West End Drive to Pemberton Road to aid in the investigation.
The original call appeared on Henrico's Active Calls website as a "mayday" but Police say no officers were injured.
