Hopewell, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Hopewell School District says they had six Covid cases in their first week of school. Hopewell is running what they are calling a "balanced" calendar this school year. The announcment was made on the district's dashboard and on a social media post.
Hopewell says all of the cases were caught in the community. Four occurred in the district's elementary schools, where students were unlikely to be eligible to be vaccinated. Two others occurred at Hopewell High School.
The district says there was no spread inside of school buildings. Hopewell is requiring masks this school year.
