Hopewell, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - On Facebook, Hopewell Schools Superintendent Melody Hackney says she will present an enhanced security and prevention plan to the School Board next week. Hackney is acting after the District revealed there were two gun incidents, and a social media threat, recently.

Hackney says the plan will be published after the Board approves it. She says students are struggling with the Covid pandemic, and that they are seeing a higher intensity with the misconduct.

Hackney also admits the District made mistakes with timely notifications of the incidents, and is promising notifications will now go out the day something happens.
