Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - VDOT's Richmond District says it has finally completed cleanup from February's ice storms. The agency said it cleared more than 460,000 cubic yards, or 9,100 loads, from roadsways in the Richmond District. The district includes the metro area but stretches all the way to the North Carolina border, and includes some of the counties hardest hit in the storms.

VDOT says it took so long because first they had to clear the roads, then come back and get the debris off the sides or shoulders. They thank drivers for their patience over the last four months.

The cleanup cost $23 million.
