Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia's Vaccine Cooridinator Dr. Danny Avula says the pause with the Johnson and Johnson vaccines will not slow Virginia's move to make all adults eligible for vaccination by the end of the week. However, Avula says it will slow the rollout of those shots actually into people's arms.

The J&J vaccine is being put on pause because of an extremely rare side effect, dealing with blood clots, that impacted six people, one of whom died. Avula says he understands the pause will create questions, and they will need to have good answers as to why people should still get the J&J vaccine when it resumes.

However, Avula says everyone is being conservative and cautious with the vaccines because they understand the role public trust plays in this whole process.
