Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Senator Tim Kaine (D), in Senate Committee today, pressed the Biden Administration on why rapid Covid tests are so expensive in the United States. Kaine called cheaper tests are rare area of political agreement in Washington over Covid.
The Democrat says people have shown a willingness to get tested, and avoid working or going to school sick, if the tests are cheap. However, he says the cheapest American test is twelve dollars for a two pack. In the U.K., free tests are available, and in Germany, you can get them for under a dollar.
The Biden Administration says because of our decentralized system, it is tough to address those types of issues quickly.
