23-year-old Charged in Connection to Colonial Heights Breaking and Entering

Colonial Heights, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A Petersburg man is facing charges in connection to a breaking and entering that occurred in Colonial Heights on Wednesday, June 26.

Just after 6 a.m., Colonial Heights Police were called to the 100 block of Lakeview Park Road for a reported assault where a gun was displayed.


When officers arrived, the victim told police that a man – identified as 23-year-old Jamyles Johnson – forcefully entered the apartment through a window and started an argument. The argument turned physical after the gun was taken out.

Johnson left the apartment when he was informed police had been called. He has been taken into custody and is being held in Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The charges Johnson faces are burglary with an intent to commit a felony, aggravated domestic assault, strangulation, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and destruction of property.
