Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a Christmas Eve home invasion and robbery that injured those inside the home.
During the evening hours on Dec. 24, Chesterfield police reported that two male suspects forcibly entered a home in the 7600 block of Ratling Drive. The suspects were armed and took an undisclosed amount of cash and other belongings before fleeing the area.
Officials said the incident led to several injuries; one victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
After an investigation, police apprehended 47-year-old Barry Rush on Dec. 27. He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, abduction, robbery causing serious bodily injury, burglary, aggravated malicious wounding and conspiracy.
Rush is being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond.
The investigation indicates that the home invasion and robbery was not a random crime, according to officials. Anyone with information that could aid in this ongoing investigation is asked to contact Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251.
