Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - VCU says a man was shot and killed at VCU Medical Center overnight, and a second man is in custody. Both VCU and Richmond Police responded to the hospital.
Both men, the suspect and the victim, were employees at the hospital. The shooting was preceded, according to Richmond Police, by an altercation on a stairwell. No one else was injured in the incident.
Upon Richmond and VCU Police's arrival, Ty’Quan White, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Suspect Christopher Boissea, 24, was taken into custody without incident. Boissea has now been charged with maliciously shooting within a building, though police say additional charges are pending.
Both departments are handling the investigation.
