Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- A man shot in January by Richmond Police died on Wednesday.
61-year-old Douglas Price was shot during a police search early in the morning of January 9, when Richmond Police say he "brandished a gun" at them. The police were carrying out a search warrant for a "multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigation" when the shooting occurred.
Price was given first aid before being transported to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on Wednesday, where he had been receiving "treatment related to the incident." Richmond Interim Police Chief Rick Edwards says that the department will provide the public with a briefing video regarding the fatal use of force within two weeks.
