
Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney has announced a mask mandate for city employees. All city employees, unless they have a health or religious exemption, must be fully vaccinated by October 1st.
Employees will need to prove their current status by August 18th. Stoney says those who are not vaccinated by October 1st will face HR action. He estimates roughly 40% to 50% of the staff is vaccinated, similar rates to the city as a whole. The city employees approximately 3,600.
School employees are not covered as they fall under the supervision of the Richmond School Board.
