Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - During a press conference on Friday morning, Mayor Danny Avula and other city officials said the boil water advisory should be lifted sometime Saturday.
The city’s water plant has returned to full pressure, and water is flowing normally for most residents. However, the city is still under a boil water advisory.
In order to lift the advisory, two water samples must be collected and found to be free of bacteria. These tests must be taken 16 hours apart. The results of the first test are expected by 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10.
As long as both tests come back negative, the boil water advisory should be lifted in the morning on Saturday, Jan. 11.
“We anticipate that if everything goes well, it will be negative, and we’ll be able to lift that boil water advisory sometime Saturday morning,” Avula said.
