Harrisonburg, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A large crowd gathered at James Madison University's basketball arena to remember two Bridgewater College officers shot and killed in the line of duty last week. Officers J.J. Jefferson and John Painter both were killed responding to a report of a suspicious person on campus.
Among those attending the memorial service was Governor Glenn Youngkin (R). Youngkin spoke during the event, mentioning the oft-repeated story that two were considered the "dynamic duo."
An Ashland man, Alexander Campbell, faces charges in the two officers' deaths. Campbell is a former Bridgewater student.
