Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A nine-year-old boy drowned on Saturday while swimming with his family at a location between Pony Pasture and the Meadows in Richmond.
Officials with the City of Richmond said the first units arrived on scene at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 and entered the water to the last known location of the boy at Pony Pasture.
Crews were able to locate the nine-year-old “underwater in a deep hole up against an underwater rock” at around 7 p.m.
He was brought to the surface of the water and to the shore by the Richmond Fire Department, where he was then pronounced dead.
