Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A special grand jury in Virginia Beach has determined there is no probably cause to charge Officer Solomon Simmons for shooting and killing Donovon Lynch in March at the Oceanfront. The news coming at the end of an two-hour long press conference. The grand jury also recommended that the Lynch's family attorney be investigated for perjury.

Lynch's shooting culminated a wild hour or so at the Oceanfront, where, in a few block area, multiple people were shot, a woman was killed, and Lynch was shot and killed. The Commonwealth's Attorney Colin Stolle and his deputy, arguing during the news conference that Lynch was armed, and had cocked his gun, right near a shooting scene, and that Simmons was justified in acting.

Stolle's office displayed multiple body camera videos from the scene. Simmons' camera never turned on, as he had turned it off as he was leaving the initial shooting scene that weekend, and failed to turn it back on as he responded to later gunfire, according to Stolle's office. The shooting in Virginia Beach was overshadowed in the news in Richmond, because hours earlier, 13-year old Lucia Bremer was shot and killed near Mills Godwin High School, allegedly by another teen.
