Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam (D) held his first Covid-19 briefing in several weeks Monday afternoon, and did not explicitly rule out a vaccine mandate for children. The Goveror made the comment in response to a reporter's question. Northam also didn't say he would support one, but rather, called on lawmakers to get involved to get as many kids vaccinated as possible.

Northam also said it appears Virginia's Covid metric are decreasing, but remain too high. Virginia, like every state, is facing a surge of cases because of the Delta variant.

Northam also took a strident tone with the unvaccinated, saying they are hurting other people by taking up hospital spaces, and preventing others from getting care.
