Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam is proposing to replace the time capsule believed to be in the base of the Robert E. Lee Monument with a new time capsule. The capsule, which records and imagery seem to suggest exists, has been in the Monument since 1887.
Northam is asking Virginians to provide ideas for what should go into the new capsule. The fate of the Monument itself is still being dealt with in the courts. The State Supreme Court held a hearing on the Monument's fate earlier this month.
Among the items believed to be in the capsule: a picture of Abraham Lincoln in his coffin.
